This is Part 3 in a series on Frugal Philosophy.  Each of the posts in this category - past, present and future - can be found archived here.Nearly anyone will tell you that when you are young the last thing on your mind is the future.  As you may expect, that isn’t exactly the case with me and it never was.

One of my earliest dreams as a child was to someday join the Peace Corps and to teach people in third world countries how to garden and grow their own crops (remember what I said a few days ago about gardening?). It is a dream that was never realized because when I graduated from high school and became an adult in the real world, other things took priority.
