Frugal Travel Tips

Who knew my mother-in-law would end up giving me a tip on frugal living?  I mean, we’re talking about the woman who routinely travels around the world just to go shopping after all.  Yet today she came up with a couple of ideas that a friend had suggested to her for ways to save money while travelling by air.

When you fly these days, you are charged for extra baggage - in fact most carriers only allow one bag now.  One way to carry only one bag and still have room for anything you might purchase on your trip is to wear and take with you clothes that you no longer really want to keep.  That way when you get there you can leave the clothes and pack your new things.  Most hotels will keep them for a period and then donate left clothes to a shelter.

Just an idea I thought was quite interesting and worth a mention here for anyone who might travel in the future.
