Winter weather car tips
Today’s frugal tips are in honor of the freezing temperatures that killed my tomato plants a few days ago. Because the extreme cold can be a pain for more than just us but also for cars here are a few winter weather card tips that should help make the cold season a little easier to bear:
- Allow your car the opportunity to warm up adequately after sitting dormant overnight or for prolonged periods in freezing temperatures. Revving a cold engine can greatly increase the wear and tear on it.
- Placing flat refrigerator magnets over the door locks on your car doors will stop them from freezing up when the weather is cold and damp.
- Keep a few fake credit cards - you know the ones that you receive in junk mailers - in your glove compartment as a quick way to remove light frost from your windshield.
