Get It Free Month Day 11 - Because Librarians are Hot!
If your childhood was anything like mine, you either grew to love or to hate the local public library. In my case, I loved it which is why today’s recommended freebie is a library card. I have been a fan of local libraries for most of my life, largely because I am a voracious reader who also tends to like to go on subject-related reading tangents from time-time-time. What would I possibly do with a pile of books on playing poker once I’d finished reading them and how could I justify actually spending money on them in the first place?
While I’m at it, let me mention that if your local library is anywhere near as cool as mine, there are always free events going on. For example, I’m taking a free seminar on grant writing in a couple of weeks. There is also a monthly meeting of amateur writers.
If you haven’t been to the library in a few years then you need to take another look before you just forget the idea altogether. Today’s public libraries carry a lot more than just piles of musty books. Most public libraries also offer music CDs and even VHS and DVD movies to check out free!Yet another reason to have a library card is that you can read all of your favorite magazines and newspapers there without having to pay for a subscription. Win!

I totally agree! The library is a fantastic resource, and is usually totally free. The librarians at my local branch see me coming in, and by the time I get to the front desk, they have already pulled my books for me.
I can’t even begin to imagine how much money the library has saved me over the years - even with all the late fines I’ve paid. LOL!
